Petaling Jaya, or PJ, sits right next to Kuala Lumpur and is one of the Klang Valley's oldest and most established cities. Beyond the older sections of central PJ, the Damansara side has grown into a string of townships, from Damansara Perdana and Mutiara Damansara to Kota Damansara and Damansara Damai. Three rail lines, big malls and short drives into KL keep demand high, and you can find everything from affordable apartments to large bungalows.

Getting around
PJ has some of the best rail coverage in the Klang Valley. The LRT Kelana Jaya Line runs through central PJ and Kelana Jaya, the MRT Kajang Line serves the Damansara corridor with stations such as Mutiara Damansara, Bandar Utama and Kota Damansara, and the MRT Putrajaya Line reaches the northern townships, including Damansara Damai.
The LRT3 Shah Alam Line, opened on 29 June 2026, starts at Bandar Utama and passes Kayu Ara, Damansara Idaman and Subang, with an interchange to the Kelana Jaya Line at Glenmarie. For drivers, the LDP is the main north–south road through PJ and Damansara, with the NKVE, Federal Highway, SPRINT and NPE all close by.
